Doing Things Differently: Property Management in San Diego

Property Management is booming right now, projected to grow from $17.69 billion in 2021 to $19.33 billion in 2022, according to Fortune Business Insights. Yet, I bet you’re used to dealing with a property manager that takes a million years to answer your messages? And then when they finally do, they completely misunderstood or completely disregard what you needed in the first place? Right?! Nearly everyone has their own property management horror story, and they can leave deep financial and personal scars that don’t easily heal. We finally put our heels down and said “enough is enough.” We, too, were tired of dealing with property management horror stories, so we decided to put matters into our own hands by managing our own properties.

This started us on the journey of learning the ins and outs of property management with our own investments, figuring out how to keep costs low and revenues up all while keeping our tenants happy and cared for. Then, we got so freakin’ good at it that we expanded into property management for others! So how come there are so many property managers out there, but so many of us have had so many negative experiences? Well luckily, we won’t keep our personal learnings a secret: here are some of the most important things that set us apart when it comes to San Diego Property Management.

Organization

When it comes to keeping things in tip-top shape, we have it down. From rent collection to inspections to knowing our tenants’ pets by first and last name, most property management companies completely miss the mark here. Sure, a lot of this organization comes naturally to us as smart, capable women–but we also use an amazing, up-to-date online portal that makes things super easy and transparent for tenants and landlords alike.

Consolidating rent payments and tenant requests into one cohesive platform makes everything streamlined and user-friendly. Gone are the days of dated, nonsensical hoops to jump through, like delivering a handwritten check to a mailbox or leaving a gazillion voicemail messages begging for someone to unclog your sink. Seems simple enough, right? Yet most experiences we’ve had with property management companies have been pretty disheartening and disorganized– but we think we’ve figured out why, which brings us to:

Humanizing The Process

We’ve all heard of the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated, it’s amazing to see how this one small rule can make such a huge positive impact on property management. It’s common sense! But unfortunately, not that many property management companies in San Diego we worked with in the past operate by this principle. That’s why we hold it as our number one value and go the extra mile to really get to know our tenants and property owners. Best of all? We actually LOVE to do this! Everyone that we work with has their own story, their own full, rich life that we genuinely like and are proud to be a part of.

One lesson we’ve learned along the way is if you get to know the people you’re working with, chances are they’ll take the time to get to know you too! This reciprocal kinship and respect helps in all facets of the business, like anticipating needs, remembering requests, and building community within our properties. And what goes around really does come around. Our glowing reviews speak for themselves, but even better than the reviews we receive are the genuine, real-life friendships that we’ve made along the way.

Loving What You Do

It’s true, we really do love what we do! Property management in San Diego is kind of a no-brainer–there are tons of rental properties and it’s a highly coveted area, so our properties really sell themselves! What it comes down to is that we changed our own lives by learning how to invest in real estate and manage our own properties, and now we want to help others and share what we’ve learned. What we do is our true passion, and we really think that shines through in how we do our work.

Besides… if we didn’t love it, why else would we do it in the first place?! So if you’re looking for a property management company in San Diego that puts people first, then you’ve definitely come to the right place and 100% should pop into our corner of the internet (or our Kensington office) and say hello
